The inaugural issue of a newsletter dedicated to Long Range Muzzle Loading (LRML) is now available. This newsletter was originally the idea of Arleen and Ed Decker, and Lee Shaver, but they didn’t have to twist my arm too hard to agree to help with editing. The concept is to provide a newsletter that can both provide information to those just starting the sport and for those that have loved it for years. We hope to provide information on upcoming matches, the history of long range muzzle loading, tips on how to improve your shooting, upcoming matches, results of matches and much more. We also encourage you to send in your questions about LRML. We have access to some of the most knowledgeable long range muzzle loaders to answer your questions.

This is meant to be YOUR newsletter. The only way that this is going to work is if you send in your information and articles for publication. If you know other people that are interested in LRML but haven’t received a copy, please feel free to forward this on to them.

Dear LRML Shooters:

This spring match will be my 25th LRML match that I’ve held at Oak Ridge and will be held Friday and Saturday 30/31 March 2012. It is an ORSA Long-Range Muzzle Loading Match using traditional long-range muzzle loading rifles of the mid – late 1800’s and is designed to be an enjoyable shoot.

The distances and format will be slightly different this year as we’ll shoot 200 & 300 on Friday, 600 & 1000 yards will be shot Saturday. Sunday will be reserved for a rain day if needed, if not I plan to open the range at 11am for two 1.5hr practice relays.

Hope to see you in Tennessee.
